Current Projects:
Marriot – South Street Seaport, New York, NY
A 32 story, 75,000 SF 176 key ground-up concrete superstructure construction with a deep foundation. The exterior is a window wall system. WLH Consulting & Development LLC has been contracted to manage the entire design, procurement, and construction process. Some of the unique aspects of this project are that it is in a FEMA Flood Zone A area, in a Landmark District, on landfill material, with a ground water level at (-) 3 feet being constructed next to a 100 year building sharing two sides of the property. The foundation system is a very complex bath-tub design which requires the excavation to be completely dewatered with a sheathing system and over 100 mini piles drilled to a depth of 85 feet. The logistics of this project site also bring a unique challenge, which will require a monumental amount of logistical coordination. These aspects of the project make the already challenging approval process with the DOB, DOT, DEP and other agencies complicated and time consuming.
Starwood ALOFT – Financial District, New York, NY
A 19 story, 63,000 SF 128 key ground-up construction with a deep foundation. The exterior is a brick façade system. WLH Consulting & Development LLC has been contracted to manage the entire design, procurement, and construction process. Some of the unique aspects of this project is its proximity to MTA subway lines as well as having existing buildings on 3 sides. These aspects of the project make the already challenging approval process with the DOB, DOT, DEP, MTA and other agencies complicated and time consuming. The management of the hotel brand is one that takes a great deal of coordination between all the design professionals due to the approval process.
Landmark Luxury Condo Conversion – 105 Chambers, New York, NY
WLH Consulting & Development LLC has been contracted to manage the entire design development process through the construction phase. The Cary building is a 19th century building designed by King and Kellum. In 1982 it was designated as a city landmark and in the following year the building became a national landmark. The building is currently a mix use 6-story building with cellar through fourth floors classified as commercial and fifth through sixth floor classified as residential. The proposed alteration calls for the conversion of the second through fourth floor to residential occupancy. This proposal would also include replacing windows on the second through fourth on the North, South, and East façade.
